A.A. Contributions

The Seventh Tradition states:  “Every A.A. group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.”  While contributions cover each group’s rent and other expenses, the Seventh Tradition is essential at every level of A.A. service. It is both a privilege and a responsibility for groups and members to ensure that not only their group, but also their intergroup/central office, local services, district, area, and the General Service Office remain self-supporting. This keeps A.A. free of outside influences that might divert us from our primary purpose — to help the alcoholic who still suffers. The amount of our contribution is secondary to the spiritual connection that unites all groups around the world.

General Service Office

Contributions to the General Service Office can be made electronically by debit, credit or by PayPal. Visit GSO’s contribution page to do so.

We apologize for delays in cashing cheques from Canadian members caused by the confusion on the mailing address. If you have any cheques outstanding that were sent to PO Box 2407, please be assured that although it will take longer these cheques will be forwarded to GSO for manual processing.  


Area 86 (Western Ontario General Service)

Area 86 is always in need of contributions in order to meet our expenses.  In addition to cheques, groups and/or districts can now send payment by e-transfer.

We have a downloadable contributions form which can be filled out and mailed in with your cheque. Cheques need to be made payable to: Western Ontario General Service Area 86.

For those wishing to contribute by e-transfer, you can send your payment to treasurer@area86aa.org. DO NOT send a contribution to any other email address! You will also need to email the treasurer all the information found on the downloadable contributions form so the treasurer can attribute your contribution to the appropriate entity.
